Chris … I really think the current “overview with additions” format is GREAT … your viewers can get the broad-strokes of the features, but still keep their time investment to 15 minutes, and if they have a particular interest in one of the interviews, they can go check those out. Works for me!

Thanks, Brendan! I appreciate the vote. It seems like a really simple way to give people a bite, and then a meal.

The overview format works well for me.
Including the full length videos on the same page is a plus.
I’m not a fan of overview and then I have to click away to find the full content.

Just took in your Pleasure, Flow and Meaning, email. Thank you! The fact that the aha’s are obvious makes them matter even more because they were ignored.

Fantastic Chris. That email not only focused me, but it inspired an entire blog post on the power of a well written email.

Good analysis, I love Dr. Weil. I would add that finding a sport that makes you feel good (endorphins) provides a great basis for the “do” part!!

Chris, the pragmatism of what you added, doing and now, is spot on. It’s seems as though what Dr Weil offers according to your analysis is certainly acceptable, if not totally the ideal that we strive to attain. But as you pointed out balance is needed. Without practical application with a sustainable outcome in place we suffer the ability to stay afloat.

Holy crap. We can certainly lose out quickly worshiping solely at the altar of pleasure, flow and meaning.

Thank you for the recommendation of Spontaneous Happiness – I’m going to check it out at the library.

    Chris,

As a long time psychotherapist, I’ve done my share of helping people explore the many underpinnings of depression, not to mention a variety of ways to combat it. In the end, though, I have a heavy bias towards taking action, perhaps more than anything else. Action is a natural antidote to depression. Go somewhere. Do something. Just keep moving.

    Thanks for the thoughtful post.

Thanks for the great reminder about invoicing. I am too shy about invoicing and it just makes for discomfort on BOTH sides.

First off all, thank you Chris for your e-mail. Down here in Poland, there is no social media Mentors, that i can learn from, hhmmm, maybe there are, but no as good as you, I must say, in fact, the only book I found in this subject, was “Trust Agents”, So keep in going, great job. Also, thank you for recomendation of Mr. Dr. Andrew Weil’s book. As well as in private life and business, we have to deal with hesitation mood, which is like are as sinusoid, once go up and downs. So, in my opinion, “Spontaneous Happiness” book, should be very useful.

Your “flow” email was perfect, and it struck just the right chord. I guess it was social media serendipity that the next day a surprise guest post for my blog turned up in my email, also talking about flow. I linked the two, and quoted your email, here is the blog post if you’d like to check it out => http://shemeansbusiness.wordpress.com/2012/02/09/be-a-social-media-rumpelstiltskin-weave-pancakes-into-gold/ Thanks for all you do, Chris. I am a long time fan, first time commenter:)

I’m definitely a weekend writer! I block on a few hours twice a week to commit to writing, but it’s when I have “free” time on the weekend where things just FLOW because I don’t have the pressure of having to do something.

PS – working out “in between” jobs (day job and night job) is a really great idea!
PPS – great video! It was so visually entertaining I watched the whole thing and didn’t multitask and just listen.

Enjoyed this episode. (is that the right word?)
Now I must buy a tee shirt.

Also, I need to ‘sell’ my book which went live this past week.

Re: when I write. Best when I have the ideas and a quiet house. When I’m off on the weekend and my wife is at work usually qualifies.

Re: emails. HBW, Secret Show, etc. They all show as coming from Chris Brogan. I get them all jumbled though I love all the content. Now if I only had a BroganMedia.app….

    Cheers,
    Todd
